Camboriú is the original municipality that named the Camboriú / Balneário Camboriú pair; the beach city's 1964 emancipation left behind a calm residential profile here, crossed by the Camboriú river and still featuring rural areas to the west. The Centro keeps traditional retail along Avenida Brasil and Rua Antônio Vagner, with the Mercado Público Municipal as anchor. The last decade brought residential launches up to fifteen storeys aimed at families who work in BC but want a lower ticket. Ten-minute crossing to Balneário Camboriú via the Camboriú river bridge.
